EVENTS FOR THE YEAR 2005

LEELA DANDA

A performance of Leela Danda by Gadadhar Barik and group from Narayanpur, Sonepur was organized by Art Vision in collaboration with Intach, Bhubaneswar, at Art Vision mini-auditorium on the western side of the Bindusagar , on the 15th of November. Leela Danda is a popular folk theatre based on Radha-Krishna theme, prevalent in the Sonepur district.

1ST SANGAM CONFLUENCE OF DANCE

On the eve of 'guru dibasa', Art Vision, Bhubaneswar in collaboration with Mahagami, Aurangabad, presented 'Sangam, a confluence of dance', choreographic compositions in Odissi and Kathak by Ileana Citaristi and Parwati Dutta on September 5th, 2005 at Rabindra Mandap, Bhubaneswar.

The festival is conceived as homage to the gurus through group choreographic compositions composed by senior disciples. Every year two different styles of dances will be brought together on the same platform on this particular day.

KALINGA MAHOSTAV

Kalinga Mahotsav 2005 a national festival of Martial Dances, jointly organised by Orissa Tourism, Nalco and Art Vision, took place at Dhauli Stupa on the 4th and 5th of February.

GEETI NATYA

Continuing with the tradition of revival of traditional Oriya theatre,,  a Geethi natya performance  was held in Art Vision mini-auditorium on the 16th of January. 2005 The performance  presented by  the Ganakabi Smruti Samsada, a traditional theatre troupe from Mahanga, Cuttack district,  featured a play by famous  dramatist Vaishnav Pani titled Abhimanyu badhya.
